Richard Rees is a Strategic Energy Officer for Birmingham City Council, UK. He specialises in strategy development and project management relating to sustainability and energy for the City of Birmingham, most recently co-authoring the Green Commission’s Vision Statement (March 2012) and Carbon Roadmap (November 2013). Richard was the Lead Officer for Birmingham’s Green Infrastructure and Adaptation Delivery Group (2010-2012), leading the production of the Climate Change Adaptation Action Plan (January 2012) and Places for the Future Supplementary Planning Document. He was Lead Supervisor and Chair of the BUCCANEER project, which won the Lord Stafford Award for Innovation in Environment and Sustainability (2012). Richard completed his undergraduate studies in History and Politics at Keele University (2008) and postgraduate studies in Public Management at University of Birmingham (2013).
